Ohio Veterans' Plaza Ohio Statehouse

The Plaza was designed to honor the men and women in Ohio who have served in the military since the beginning of World War II. As the primary visitor entrance to the adjacent Ohio Statehouse, curved Ohio limestone walls define the north and south boundaries of the Plaza. Carved into the limestone walls, and, a feature of the plaza, is actual correspondence from Ohio soldiers that was sent to family, friends and loved ones. This is a living memorial that is used daily as visitors and workers access the Statehouse. The Veterans’ Plaza serves as testimony that our government wouldn’t exist without the sacrifice made by Ohio veterans.
