In the late 1980s, Allied Mineral Products set out to create a world class headquarters for their growing global enterprise, suitable for a leader in the manufacture of refractory cements and products for the hot metal industry.
SCA has worked with Allied on several projects as the business has grown. Visitors from around the world have been impressed with the iconic facility’s entrance, the cauldron, and the lush grounds surrounding the offices and manufacturing facilities. The 60-acre site is designed as a respite from the industrial environment. Employees enjoy trails, ponds, fountains, gardens and exercise facilities. The ponds serve as runoff control structures and as a water source for the irrigation system. Materials throughout the site were selected to reflect the materials used in the manufacture of the company’s products.
