Zach joined Schooley Caldwell as a recent graduate; he earned a Master of Architecture from Ball State University in 2013, where he also earned his undergraduate degree. He is originally from Indianapolis and has also lived in Texas, California, South Carolina, Paris (7 years), and spent a semester in Australia as part of a study abroad architecture program at BSU. Zach decided to study architecture in part because of this exposure to diverse places and is now getting to know his new home, Columbus.
During his last year of graduate school, Zach participated in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon, which challenges teams of students to design and build solar-powered houses. He did design work and also oversaw the construction of the project, located in Louisville, KY. He also worked on a collaborative design-build project for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources in addition to interning for a couple of firms in Indiana.
Outside of work, Zach is an avid sports fan and loves traveling and exploring new places.
